The organizer of a military exhibition near Kyiv, which was struck by a Russian attack killing ten people and injuring about a hundred, has been detained in Ukraine. This was announced by the country's Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko.
"According to the investigation, one of the associations of arms manufacturers organized a large-scale event involving military personnel, representatives of state bodies, international partners, and businesses, without any coordination with the military command, regional and district military administrations, or other authorized bodies. The program included a demonstration of air defense systems," he noted.
According to Kravchenko, more than 300 people were invited to the exhibition, while the nearest shelter was located approximately 100 meters from the event venue.
"This means that hundreds of people were, from the very beginning, in conditions of clear security risk. Invitations were sent out nine days before the event, and the exact location and time were announced one day in advance. The investigation is checking whether these actions could have contributed to the enemy having the opportunity to prepare a targeted strike," he added.
The main organizer of the exhibition, who was detained, has been charged with official negligence.
