US urgently withdrew all B-1 bombers from Britain after alleged terror plot at airbase
Twelve American bombers, used for strikes on Iran, have returned to the US. This happened a week after several men were arrested near the airbase, suspected of preparing terrorist attacks.

All American B-1B Lancer bombers have left the Royal Air Force Fairford base in the UK, Reuters reports, citing the Pentagon.
“While operational security considerations precluded us from confirming real-time movement of our assets and forces, we can now report that all US bombers stationed at Fairford have returned to their home bases in the United States,” a Pentagon spokesman said.
There were 12 B-1 bombers at the British airbase. From there, they flew to conduct American strikes on Iranian missile facilities.
A week prior, several men were arrested near Fairford under explosives legislation. Residents from surrounding homes were evacuated.
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated that London had "strong indications" of Iran's involvement in the alleged plot against the base. Tehran dismissed these accusations as baseless. Donald Trump claimed that the suspects planned to inflict "great harm."
