US President Donald Trump, at a pre-election rally in Texas, suggested that Venezuela might become the 51st state of the USA, demonstrating an oil tanker with Venezuelan oil.

«Venezuela will become a prosperous country, and who knows? Perhaps soon it will become a prosperous 51st state,» the Guardian quotes Trump as saying.
He called the agreement reached with the Venezuelan government after the removal of ex-president Nicolás Maduro from power on January 3, «the biggest victory for the oil industry in history».
«I want to thank Venezuela, where our relations have become very, very good, wonderful,» the president told his supporters at a midterm election rally in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Trump also demonstrated a tanker, which, according to the American president, contained «one million barrels of oil» from Venezuela.
