Bridge over Neman River in Novogrudok District to be Closed for a Whole Year
In the Novogrudok district, traffic across the bridge over the Neman River will be closed for a year starting October 26. The reason is a major overhaul of the structure on the 16th kilometer of the N-6325 Lyubcha — Shchorsy — border of Minsk Region road.

As reported by Alexander Martsulevich, First Deputy General Director of "Grodnoobldorstroy" enterprise, the bridge was built in 1984. For more than 40 years of operation, it has regularly undergone maintenance and routine repairs. However, due to the increase in heavy vehicle traffic, a major overhaul became necessary.
During the work, plans include strengthening the bridge structure, repairing supports and crossbeams, replacing bearing parts of beams, tidying up the cones of the bank supports, and installing lighting.
The bridge will remain accessible for pedestrians and cyclists during the repair. Motorists are advised to bypass the closed section via the local road N-6202 Yaremychy — Sinyavskaya Slabada — border of Novogrudok district with access to the republican highway R-11.

Alexander Martsulevich noted that the repair will create certain inconveniences for residents and drivers, but will guarantee the safety and reliability of the bridge for many years to come. Road services ask for understanding regarding the temporary restrictions.
