At least 36 countries will participate in Eurovision 2027, two are still considering

36 countries will take part in the Eurovision 2027 song contest – one more than this year. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced the list of participants on October 28. The contest will take place next May in Burgas, Bulgaria.

For the first time in Eurovision history, a representative from Canada will appear on stage. North Macedonia will also return to the contest after a four-year break.

Participation has been confirmed by Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Malta, Norway, Portugal, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Montenegro, Switzerland, Sweden, and Estonia.

Several countries will not participate in the contest. Slovakia will again miss Eurovision, citing financial and programming restrictions of the public broadcaster. The Netherlands and Ireland have withdrawn their participation for the second consecutive year, as they do not support Israel's presence in the contest.

Spain and Slovenia have not yet made a final decision. The European Broadcasting Union has given them until December to decide.

Belarus and Russia will also not participate. The membership of the Belarusian state broadcaster in the organization was suspended back in 2021, and Russian broadcasters were excluded from the EBU after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

For the first time in history, the contest will be held in Bulgaria. This became possible after the victory of Bulgarian singer Dara with the song "Bangaranga" at Eurovision 2026. Burgas, on the Black Sea coast, was chosen as the host city.

The first semi-final is scheduled for May 11, 2027, the second for May 13, and the final for May 15. Residents of all participating countries, as well as viewers from other countries around the world, will be able to participate in the voting. Together with national juries, they will determine the winner of the contest.
