«They terrorized everyone.» Neighbors about the Lipsky family, who «planned the murder of more than 40 people»

«They used to live in Svetlogorsk»

Before coming to Minsk, the Lipskis lived in Svetlogorsk. They moved to the capital about twenty years ago, when their son Sasha was in school. The family bought a two-room apartment in a panel Khrushchev building on Rokossovsky Avenue.

— At first they seemed like decent people, they smiled. But over time, everything changed so much that the residents were afraid to cross paths with them unnecessarily, they waited for them to pass in order to go somewhere. Everyone realized that the Lipskis are very slippery and dangerous people: they constantly wrote slander and complaints, called the traffic police. As soon as a person opens his mouth to object to them, they immediately say that they «have information», — say the Lipskis' neighbors.

People still can't believe that the family that terrorized everyone for years will no longer harm anyone, and just in case, they ask not to name their names.

— They could write, for example, that a person takes bribes or trades something forbidden, although, of course, this was not the case. We don't know how the Lipskis collected information, but they knew who worked where, who was from where, they could go to the residents' homeland and ask about them there. His father, Volodya, was the quietest of them: he talks to you and thinks something to himself. He said that he worked on drilling rigs, worked in shifts. But Raisa was very unpleasant and dissatisfied with everything. When she walked towards you, you had to look away so as not to get «hooked».

Little is known about the couple's son, Alexander Lipsky. In 2009, he entered BNTU at the Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering. One of his classmates in a conversation with Onlíner journalists described him as a «closed person».

— It so happened that several guys from his native Svetlogorsk studied in our group at once. This, of course, is at the level of rumors, but they said that even when they lived there, my mother fiercely defended Sasha's interests at school, and their family was called «rowdy». At the university, he didn't have any close relationships with anyone, there was only one classmate — one of the few he communicated with. About Alexander himself, I can say that he was a man with his own opinion, he could argue with the teacher, he knew how to defend his rights.

— Neighbors in the house assumed that he had a law degree. Could he have studied somewhere else?

— We graduated from university in 2014, and after that, no one seems to have maintained contact with him. I can only say that Lipsky was far from a stupid person, and if he focused on something, he did it with ferocity. So, I think, if he wanted to and insisted, he could improve himself in legal terms.

The degree of «pumping» of the Lipskis in legal terms can be assessed by the lawsuit they started in 2013: the family filed a lawsuit against the chairman of the dacha cooperative (they had a dacha in Vyazynka), who took money for supplying gas, but it all stalled. According to the Lipskis, the work of the dacha cooperative was checked by the Prosecutor General's Office and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and more than one court session was held. The mother and son Lipsky themselves told about all this in the Onlíner editorial office in 2014.

Conflict. «The Lipskis terrorized everyone»

The key events after which the Lipskis began to compile their «execution list» occurred in 2019, when Alexander attacked his neighbor in the entrance, Alexey. This was preceded by a series of circumstances. Years earlier, before the New Year, Alexey moved into a two-room apartment that belonged to his girlfriend. The apartment was located directly above the Lipskis. Just a couple of days later, the district police officer visited the young couple.

— He says: «We received a complaint that some kind of maniac has moved in.» My future wife and I didn't pay attention to this «bell» at first, — recalls Alexey. — After that, the Lipskis even greeted us for some time, until questions arose about parking. The fact is that there was nowhere to park near the house (there was only a narrow passage along the house, and the residents were forced to park in the green zone, the Lipskis too), and I started organizing parking: I wrote an application to the executive committee, the development of the project began. Everyone supported me then, including the Lipskis.

At first I didn't even know about the existence of the Lipskis' son, he didn't manifest himself in any way. His father Volodya was mainly interested in how things were progressing with the parking lot. But when Alexander appeared and began to attend organizational meetings, the family suddenly stopped greeting us. We, for example, have a meeting in the yard, I call them, but no one picks up the phone or opens the door. At that time, I had already collected signatures from the whole house — there were several sheets. But then something incredible happened: these same signatures somehow ended up with the Lipskis. And, as it turned out, they also submitted an application for the organization of parking and attached lists with the signatures of residents collected by me.

They were denied both by the residents themselves and by the housing and communal services, and after that a war began against our family on the part of the Lipskis. What didn't they do!

I don't know how, but overnight my car ended up with its wheels on the curb, and immediately in the morning a traffic police crew was called. Even my neighbors covered me and took fines on themselves, because they knew: five administrative offences — and I would face deportation. I came to live in Belarus from Ukraine, and the Lipskis knew about it and used this information. For example, they wrote to the migration service that I allegedly have a second wife in Ukraine. They also tried in every possible way to make our life in the apartment unbearable: they turned on loud music, the sound of tuberculous cough or a drill under the daughter's room and went for a walk. When we called the police on them, the Lipskis immediately contacted the migration service with a new story about me. There, of course, they already understood what kind of people they were, but they still had to conduct inspections.

The residents never got a parking lot. According to the interlocutor, the Lipskis «began to write denunciations on everyone involved in the project».

— For example, they found out who the project architect was and started filing complaints against him. The surveyor called and said: «Let's cancel the contract, I'll return all the money to you,» — because the Lipskis complained about him to all possible instances and made him almost a bandit. That is, they spoiled life for absolutely everyone, terrorized everyone they could.

At the end of 2018, Alexey, with his wife and children, was going to go to his wife's village in the Brest region for the New Year holidays. The man was warming up the car and waiting for the family to come down. At this time, according to him, the mother and son Lipsky ran up to the car and started filming Alexey on video.

— I went out to tell them that they didn't have the right to film me in the car if I was sitting in it. They started shining flashlights in my eyes, behaved aggressively, started attacking. At some point, first Lipsky's mother, and then Lipsky himself, began to pour pepper spray into my eyes and face. I couldn't see almost anything, I just waved my hands at them. And, apparently, because they couldn't do anything to me, Alexander grabbed my finger and twisted it in the opposite direction. At this moment, a neighbor Maxim was passing by — a guy we didn't really communicate with before. He just saw what was happening and rushed to help. The Lipskis sprayed him in the eyes too. After that we somehow parted. In court it will turn out that during the attack the mother and son poured two full pepper spray cans on us and started a third one.

By this time, Alexey's wife, along with the children, came out of the entrance and, seeing what was happening, called the police and an ambulance.

— When the ambulance arrived, Lipsky's mother, according to other neighbors (because I couldn't see anything), started rolling in the snow and shouting that they were killing her. And this was far away from us. And then the ambulance arrives, and they jump into it with the words «We were attacked!» We are shocked! The wife called her sister, now deceased, whom Lipsky subsequently killed. And so they and her husband came here when the second ambulance arrived.

In this case, a criminal case was opened against Alexander Lipsky. When it was transferred to the court, the mother and son Lipsky, according to the interlocutor, hired a lawyer and went to the village of the victim Alexey's wife to collect information about them.

— This is the village in the Brest region where we were going to go for the New Year holidays. The Lipskis — just imagine it! — walked around the yards, even went to the chairman of the village council to find out at least something about me and my wife, — says Alexey.

The court sentenced Alexander Lipsky to a restriction of freedom (according to the interlocutor, 4 years of «chemistry»), but he soon disappeared. His mother disappeared after him. Lipsky's father continued to work and claimed that he had not seen his son since 2018, and his wife since 2020. As the investigators later managed to establish, he also participated in the careful planning of the murders.

— The guy from the neighboring house who came to help then, all the years that the Lipskis were hiding, was afraid to leave the apartment to the street, called me several times a day, asked where they were and whether they had been found. He said that his mail was missing. He was afraid even to go down for it. I also felt danger. The fact that they escaped and were hiding somewhere only exacerbated the feeling of danger that came from these people. My wife and I understood: even if they were found and imprisoned, they still wouldn't leave us alone. And we sold this apartment, took out a loan and bought another one.

According to Alexey, all the time until the Lipskis were caught in 2024, his family lived in incredible tension.

— Every day I saw off and met my children and my wife, I didn't let anyone go anywhere alone. Guests, meetings — everything is forbidden. Before going up to the floor, I looked up: is there anyone on the landing. Before leaving, I waited for the light bulb to go out in order to see in the dark if there was anyone at the entrance. When I looked out the window, I caught myself thinking that they could also be watching us from the windows of the house opposite. And after Lipsky shot my wife's own sister (in November 2021. — Approx. Onlíner), I installed blinds on every window of the apartment that prevented silhouettes from being seen, which excluded the possibility of aiming and shooting directly into the window. In general, it was some kind of hellish life. Not even life, but waiting for something. Only later did I learn that Lipsky had found us, knew our new address. He found everyone, everyone who was on this list.

— What is this list?

— They made a list of everyone, absolutely everyone who was involved in the 2019 case, because they believed that this criminal case had spoiled their son's life and career.

— Was the murdered Masha, your wife's sister, also on this list? There was a version that Lipsky simply confused your family with them.

— We don't know for sure and can only assume that she was there and he started killing with the people closest to us. The address of this apartment was mentioned in court in another case, even before the events of 2019: the Lipskis sued me for the fact that we flooded them and that «acid was allegedly pouring» from the sockets. The apartment was registered to my mother-in-law, and my wife's own sister Masha lived there with her husband and young daughter.

Revenge. «Masha saw Lipsky half an hour before the murder»

In November 2021, Alexander Lipsky, who was already wanted, came home to another married couple (close to Alexey's wife). According to the investigation, on that day the man changed into the uniform of a police officer, and in order to enter the entrance, he dialed a random apartment through the intercom and introduced himself as a postman. After that, he went up to the fifth floor and rang the doorbell of the apartment where a 33-year-old Minsk resident lived with her husband and daughter. Maria (Alexey's wife's sister) was shot, and her husband, trying to climb from the balcony of the fifth floor to the fourth, fell down, but survived.

Sergey, Masha's murdered husband, helped us to reconstruct the full chronology of that day.

— My wife came from work somewhere from four to five in the evening. Shortly before that day, Masha told me how some young man called the intercom, who introduced himself as a courier and, for some reason, called the name and surname of her own sister (Alexey's wife), said that he had a delivery for her. Despite the fact that my wife told him that he was mistaken, the young man somehow got into the entrance and rang directly into the apartment. Masha didn't open it for him. She couldn't really see him, she only said that he was a «young man».

That morning, Sergey returned from a night shift in a taxi and, after exchanging a couple of phrases with Masha and his 5-year-old daughter, who were going to kindergarten, went to sleep.

— In the afternoon, at about 16:30 Masha came from work, woke me up. She seemed worried, said that she seemed to have seen Lipsky. We also talked about what we would do if it really was him. Literally 30‑40 minutes later, Masha went to the kitchen to put on the kettle, and I went to the balcony. At this time, there was a knock on the door, and she went to see who was there. Then I heard a bang and hid on the balcony. I don't know how much time passed, a minute or two, when I came out. This moment was captured very crumpled, later the investigators will establish that I had a substitution of facts: the brain — apparently, under stress — finished thinking out what was not there. I saw Lipsky already on the stairs. He noticed me and came back. I couldn't close the apartment door behind me, ran to the balcony, locked myself there. But Lipsky broke the glass. When I tried to go down through the balcony window to the floor below, I fell and fell. I remember how I got up and started shouting that we were being killed and that someone should take my daughter from kindergarten. People tried to put me on the ground…

As a result of falling from a height of the fifth floor, Sergey damaged his spine, broke his ribs, both arms and legs. The man lay in the hospital for almost two months, about the same amount of time he lay at home until he began to slowly get up.

Now my daughter is 9 years old, she still doesn't know what really happened to her mother. After his wife's death, Sergey is raising his daughter alone, sometimes his mother helps him.

— It's good that they didn't manage to pick up my daughter then, because the kindergarten is almost under the windows. Honestly, we understood who the Lipskis were, but we didn't assume that they could go this far. They said that their son allegedly recorded some video message on YouTube, where he said that he had compiled some list and that everyone on it would «be ruined». But then I didn't see this video and didn't find it on the Internet after.

«It seemed that Lipsky's father was ashamed of his son and wife»

The Lipskis' neighbors said that they sometimes met the Lipskis (both the mother and the son) on the streets of Minsk, but did not really know their status: whether they were detained or not.

— We didn't believe until the very end that he had killed our Masha. After all, at first we didn't know that it was Lipsky who shot her, — recalls Alexey. — Until night we stood at the entrance, waiting for us to be let in to Masha. And when at three or four o'clock we were told that the identity of the criminal had been established and that it was Alexander Lipsky, my wife and I were shocked, because our children were left at home, and he had escaped. I remember how we rushed home with a police detail. And all this time, until Lipsky was killed and his parents were detained, we lived in fear, were morally exhausted.

Later it will become clear: Alexey's concerns were not unfounded.

 All this time, according to the investigation, the Lipskis were monitoring their «targets»: they recorded their places of residence, the presence of cameras, additional exits from the entrances, the location of apartments and windows. They obtained confidential data, seized notices from mailboxes, collected information from open sources, used video cameras, binoculars, night vision devices, universal keys from intercoms and other special equipment for surveillance.

— Alexey, how did you explain the behavior of the Lipsky family to yourself?

— These are people who have some thought in their head, like that maniac, that they can't drive away, and they have nothing more than this thought. When it all started, Lipsky's father lowered his eyes, and he seemed to be ashamed of them, and then he became the same as his wife and son. Even when we lost the lawsuit for flooding, when we won the lawsuit for the attack, I felt sorry for them.

Because I didn't understand how people could live in such fierce hatred towards everyone around them.

In September 2024, the police established the location of the family. During the attempted detention, the younger Lipsky offered armed resistance and was fatally wounded.

An arsenal of weapons was found in the house: pistols, cartridges, silencers, homemade grenades and ammunition. According to the investigation, «to implement the plans, the Lipsky family used conspiracy: wigs, canes, changing clothes on the street.» The color and brand of the father's car were changed. To communicate with each other, they used about 50 SIM cards registered to different citizens, including foreigners.

Currently, the Lipsky couple is awaiting trial in custody. No one lives in their apartment, it is sealed. During the time that has passed since the arrest of the owners, many documents have accumulated in the mailbox. They say that the Lipskis used to take utility bills from their neighbors' boxes in order to collect data about them.
