Belarusian candies with alcohol became a problem in Russia

Alcohol in candies has become popular among Russian schoolchildren — they are buying up small bottles with liqueur and cognac.

Russian schoolchildren are sweeping up bottle-shaped candies filled with strong alcohol from online stores. According to reports from Russian Telegram channels, demand for such alcohol-sweets, primarily from Belarusian manufacturers, as well as French chocolate pears, sharply increased on the eve of the New Year holidays.

Some schoolchildren feel nauseous and dizzy after just a couple of candies, which is associated with rapid alcoholic intoxication.

Chocolate candies in the form of "bottles" with cognac and liqueur are a fairly common type of candy produced by various confectionery factories. "Kommunarka" liqueur and cognac bottles are especially popular. A photo even went viral online showing a sign in a branded store announcing that there were no chocolate bottles left in stock.
