Belarusians will not be able to place bets in foreign betting companies — what will change
Restrictions will be introduced in Belarus on payments to organizers of gambling, Belarusbank's press service reported.
From February 2, 2026, a number of norms of Decree No. 226 of June 6, 2025, come into force. This includes a provision on the gambling business that will begin to operate, prohibiting transfers to foreign banks for recipients with MCC code 7995.
This code covers gambling, totalizators, lotteries, casino chips, race bets, and other bets.
"Individuals do not have the right to conclude a risk-based agreement on winnings if such an agreement involves the transfer of funds to foreign banks to the benefit of non-residents who carry out activities in the gambling business in accordance with the legislation of foreign states," is stated in the provision.
In this regard, Belarusbank is introducing restrictions.
Payment of bets is prohibited in totalizators, casinos, and similar platforms from "Student Card," Belkart-Premium cards in the "Children's" product, and others.
Cash withdrawals outside Belarus are prohibited using contactless technology, including mobile service tokens and foreign ATMs using debit card details.
