Russia and the US discuss the fate of Zaporizhzhia NPP without Kyiv's participation — the US wants to do mining there
Unexpected maneuvers are unfolding around the Zaporizhzhia NPP. As "Kommersant" writes , Moscow and Washington have begun discussing joint control over the facility, with Ukraine being ignored in these plans.

According to information from presidential pool correspondent Andrey Kolesnikov, Vladimir Putin stated at a closed meeting with businessmen that the American side shows unusual interest in the station's resources. Specifically, it concerns using ZNPP capacities for cryptocurrency mining.
"Vladimir Putin, according to 'Kommersant' information, did not hide that the issue of joint management of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with the American side (and not the Ukrainian) is being discussed. American colleagues, for example, expressed interest in engaging in mining at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Electricity supplies to Ukraine are also being discussed at the initiative of the American side. And also, Vladimir Putin recounted, he was asked if Ukrainian specialists could work at the NPP, and he replied that they are working there now, as before, only their passports are Russian now," the publication recounts the content of the closed meeting.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Americans propose a joint operation scheme (Ukraine, Russia, and the US), where the United States would be the main manager.
However, Ukraine itself insists on Russia's complete exclusion from this chain. According to Kyiv's plan, the station will be managed only by Ukraine and the US, and the generated energy will be split in half: 50% to Ukraine, 50% at the disposal of the US.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP was seized by Russian troops at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. The issue of its control is one of the most pressing in peace negotiations.
