Frosts up to -20 and heavy snowfalls. What will the weather be like next week
Forecaster Dmitry Ryabov told ONT TV channel what the weather would be like in the country next week, from January 5 to 11. According to him, real winter weather will remain throughout the week after the holidays.

Belarusians can expect abundant snowfalls, frost, gusty winds, and blizzards, which will reduce visibility in places to 1-3 kilometers. Overall, in the first decade of January, the air temperature will be 2-3 degrees below the climatic norm. By next weekend, the snow cover depth will average about 20 cm in the west of the country and up to 40 cm in the northeast.
On Monday, January 5, the weather will be determined by the influence of an anticyclone. Short-term snowfalls are expected in places, with possible clearings. Light black ice, moderate north-westerly and westerly winds are expected. At night, the temperature will drop to -6...-12 degrees, and in the northeast, to -17. During the day it will be about -3...-7, and on Tuesday, January 6, it will get even colder — approximately -4...-8.
Frosts are also expected for Orthodox Christmas. An active southern cyclone will pass through the country, bringing heavy snowfalls. Snow drifts and black ice are possible on the roads, and the wind will be gusty, easterly and north-easterly. At night — about -5...-10, during the day — -4...-7.
In the second half of the week, the weather will remain unfavorable: snow will fall almost throughout Belarus, and due to temperature fluctuations, fog and black ice are possible. Night frosts will reach -7...-15, during the day on Thursday, January 8, it will be about -8, and on Friday, January 9, — from -8 to -15.
On the weekend, January 10 and 11, the weather will be determined by atmospheric fronts from the west. Light snowfalls are predicted, but frosts will intensify: on Saturday night — -6...-12, in the northeast up to -20. During the day on Saturday it will be -3...-7, on Sunday — about -5 degrees.
