US President Donald Trump signed the statute of the Peace Council — a new international organization he is creating under his chairmanship.

The solemn signing ceremony took place at the World Economic Forum in Davos in the presence of leaders from several countries in the Middle East, South America, and Eastern Europe, including Viktor Orban, Nikol Pashinyan, and Ilham Aliyev. Notably, no representatives of Washington's traditional Western European allies were on stage with Trump.
The new structure, originally conceived to govern the Gaza Strip, has received significantly broader powers and the status of an official international organization.
Trump himself will chair the Council, and participating countries are offered to contribute one billion dollars each for lifelong membership. Invitations to join the new structure have been extended to almost 60 states, including Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.
Trump stated that his Council would cooperate with other international bodies, including the UN.
