On the morning of October 16, a Russian reactive drone "Banderol" violated the airspace of the Gomel region, "Flagstock" noted . The last time something similar happened was in August.

As the Ukrainian monitoring channel "eRadar" noted, during a massive Russian air attack on the territory of Ukraine, "Banderol" crossed the Belarusian border at 09:05 and headed deep into the country via Bragin.
As the channel moderator clarified for "Flagstock", the munition flew into the Gomel region via Chernobyl.
"Banderol" is a small loitering munition, a hybrid of a cruise missile and a reactive kamikaze drone, used for strikes on infrastructure.
On the morning of October 16, "Banderol" was already circling over the Chernihiv region. It was first recorded in the area of Kozelets, as reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The munition stayed in the territory of the Gomel region for a short time: by 09:10 it flew back to Ukraine and began moving towards Chernihiv. However, it ceased to be recorded in the Slavutych area.
As "Flagstock" reported, residents of the Gomel border area regularly hear sounds of explosions, sometimes very strong. It is likely that Ukrainian military personnel manage to shoot down some of the drones in this section, and the sounds of explosions come from the neighboring territory.
