Court in Kyiv again postpones hearing of Belarusian spy Inna Kardash's case
Belarusian journalist Inna Kardash, detained in Kyiv in January this year on suspicion of espionage, will remain in pre-trial detention until at least December 4. Her case is still in the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, writes Radio Svaboda.

It was originally planned that on September 21, the court would consider the indictment brought against Belarusian citizen Inna Kardash in Ukraine, but the session was then postponed.
The judge assigned to her case has not changed. This is Ales Salavyou, who has been working in the Pechersk Court of Kyiv since 2025. This institution usually handles high-profile political cases. Previously, Salavyou worked in the Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv, and even earlier — in the Zhovtnevyi District Court of Mariupol. After the occupation of the city by Russian troops, he was seconded to Kyiv.
As Radio Svaboda learned, the court session has been postponed for the second time. On September 21, it did not take place due to the absence of the judge, who was reportedly on a business trip that day. On October 14, the session was postponed, likely due to a very heavy shelling of Kyiv. A new date for the court session should be announced soon.
It is known that at least the consideration of the indictment will take place in open court.
Meanwhile, it became known that back in August, the court ordered the investigator in Inna Kardash's case to return $2150, seized during the search, to her husband.
Prior to this, the journalist's husband, a volunteer serving in an assault unit, brought receipts to the court for cash withdrawals from his bank card at an ATM. On this basis, the court, despite the investigator's objections, recognized that the money belonged to Kardash's husband and ordered the lifting of the seizure on them.
However, the SBU investigator, despite at least two court decisions on this matter, did not return the money. As a result, Kardash's husband complained to the court about the investigator's inaction. The results of the consideration of this complaint are not yet known.
Inna Kardash was detained on January 21 this year and accused of espionage on behalf of the State Security Committee of Belarus (KGB).
At the time of her detention, Kardash was already working at the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the investigation materials, she maintained contacts with the KGB through a Belarusian citizen who, it is alleged, "knowingly facilitated her confidential cooperation with the special services of Belarus".
On April 20, it became known that the court had seized Inna Kardash's apartment to secure the criminal proceedings.
The investigation of the case was supposed to be completed by June 20.
In early May, Bohdan Akhrymenko, head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, announced that Minsk had approached Kyiv regarding the exchange of Inna Kardash.
"Such a signal was received, but apart from discussions, there is nothing yet. We are open to proposals. We are not interested in holding foreign criminals in our country and spending budget funds on them while our illegally convicted citizens are behind bars in inhumane conditions. If practical proposals emerge during the communication process, we will consider them," Bohdan Akhrymenko said in an interview with Ukrinform news agency.
