In Minsk, a criminal case against a 46-year-old local resident, accused of hooliganism, has been sent to court. The man, who had previously been brought to criminal responsibility nine times, broke the glass in a shop door because he thought he had been sold spoiled chicken saltison, writes the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

In March 2026, the Minsk resident was released from places of detention, where he had been serving a sentence for robbery. However, already in June, he committed another crime.
In the evening, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, the man bought chicken saltison and half a loaf of bread from a shop on Labanka Street. After that, he sat down to eat at a nearby children's playground. Unwrapping the product, the Minsk resident decided it was spoiled and returned to the shop. But it was already closed. The man started knocking on the door, and when no one opened, he punched the glass and broke it.
The incident was reported to the police by the shop assistants, who had not yet managed to go home. The man was quickly detained, and a new criminal case was initiated against him.
According to Andrei Serbun, Deputy Prosecutor of Frunzensky District, the accused has a basic education, is divorced, and works as a loader. He had previously been brought to criminal responsibility nine times, in six cases for crimes against property. He still has an outstanding criminal record.
The man is accused of hooliganism — intentional actions that grossly violate public order, show clear disrespect for society, and are accompanied by damage or destruction of other people's property. This refers to Part 1 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code.
The Minsk resident fully admitted his guilt but did not compensate for the damage amounting to 575 rubles. According to expert conclusions, he requires compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism and drug addiction.
A measure of restraint in the form of a recognizance not to leave and good behavior was chosen for the accused.
