This spring, over 10,000 trees and about 50,000 shrubs are planned to be planted in the capital. The main focus will be on greening along city streets and the Minsk Ring Road. In autumn, approximately 100,000 additional shrubs are planned, but final plans will be determined after inspecting green spaces post-winter.
Various decorative shrubs will be widely used in the city — including lilac, hydrangea, weigela, spirea, and dogwood.
Special attention is paid to floral arrangements. In total, about 1.26 million annual flowers will be planted in Minsk. Among the most popular are begonia, cineraria, petunia, tagetes, coleus, and pelargonium. Additionally, about 100,000 perennial plants are planned for planting. Also, about 50,000 rose bushes will appear in various parts of the city, including miniature varieties in vertical structures.
The use of hanging flower pots along roads will also continue. Last year, such compositions with frost-resistant plants first appeared on Pobediteley Avenue and proved to be very successful. Therefore, they are now planned to be installed in other parts of the city — on Dzerzhinsky and Partizansky Avenues, as well as on Orlovskaya, Pritytskogo Streets, and other main thoroughfares. In total, about 8,000 pots will be placed.
In May, about 17,000 pots with summer trailing flowers, such as petunias and ipomoea, will appear on fences along dividing strips. In autumn, they will be replaced with chrysanthemums, for which over 12,000 special boxes are planned to be installed.
Additionally, new small architectural forms will appear in the city. They will be installed, in particular, along Pobediteley Avenue, in the square near the Sports Palace, and in other important locations of the capital.
