The US Secretary of State believes this is inevitable after the end of the war in Iran, but the final decision rests with President Trump.

The US needs to re-examine NATO's role for its country. This was stated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Fox News.
"NATO is about us having troops in Europe to defend Europe. But if we need their help, we don't ask them to carry out airstrikes; if we need them to allow us to use their military bases, their answer is no. Then why are we in NATO? That question needs to be asked," he said.
According to Rubio, the US will be able to re-evaluate NATO's significance immediately after the end of the war in Iran, which is entering the "final stretch".
"This won't happen today or tomorrow, but it will come. We will reach a point when our military achieves all mission objectives," he added.
