State Control Committee collected complaints from Belarusians regarding electric car charging. What's wrong?

In a short period, the State Control Committee received more than 120 complaints from citizens regarding the operation of electric vehicle charging stations. For this purpose, a special hotline was even opened, which quickly collected a large number of appeals.

The main part of the complaints concerned the insufficient number of charging stations in the country. People noted their shortage not only in small towns and district centers but also in regional centers. It was specifically mentioned that the problem exists even along popular tourist routes, for example, in the areas of Narach and Braslav region, where charging stations are clearly lacking.

About a third of the complaints concerned the quality of work of existing stations. It is reported that some of them have not been working for a long time — a month or even more. People also complained about underdeveloped mobile applications for managing charging and the poor condition of the areas around the stations, including issues of cleanliness and maintenance of parking lots.

At the same time, some citizens complained not about a shortage, but, on the contrary, about an excessive number of charging stations. This particularly concerns powerful charging stations installed in the courtyards of residential buildings. Local residents dislike that they attract a large number of cars, create noise, traffic, and pollution in the area.

In this regard, the control authorities expressed the opinion that in residential areas, perhaps only slower charging stations should be installed, which do not create intense traffic and additional problems for residents.

In addition, complaints were also received from companies involved in installing charging stations. They are dissatisfied with complex bureaucracy, as well as the fact that the processes of approval and obtaining permits are not entirely transparent.

The State Control Committee announced that it would forward the received complaints to the responsible departments and organizations, and promises to keep these issues under its own control.
