In Belarusian provinces, bulletproof vests are being massively purchased
Stolin district executive committee purchased bulletproof vests — more than 400 pieces. Similar tenders are being announced by other local authorities. For example, Hlybokaye district executive committee intends to acquire 485 similar means of protection, Zerkalo publication noted.

Stolin district executive committee concluded a deal in March to purchase 408 bulletproof vests, according to public procurement data. They are to be delivered to local authorities from April to the end of October this year.
Initially, more than 1 million rubles were ready to be allocated for the purchase, but after studying prices from various potential suppliers, they settled on the young Minsk company "NPK Bronya", which offered the most budget-friendly option. As a result, more than 400 bulletproof vests cost 639,336 rubles. The money for this was taken from the district budget. This means each cost, on average, a little over 1.5 thousand rubles.
In total, the executive committee needed 204 bulletproof vests of the second conditional size and 204 of the third conditional size. The first one is for height 176–182 cm, and the second one for 183–188 cm.
"The color of the bulletproof vests is digital camouflage (used in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus)," as stated in the public procurement application. They must provide protection against pistol shots, knife attacks, and shrapnel, plus have reinforced inserts front and back against more serious weapons (e.g., automatic rifle shots).
Hlybokaye district executive committee posted a similar application in April. It needed a total of 485 bulletproof vests. The structure is ready to pay up to 1.2 million rubles for them — also from the district budget.
A similar purchase request was placed by the Byaroza district executive committee. It requires 800 bulletproof vests. The expenditure ceiling is indicated at 1.35 million rubles. There are also such requests from other authorities — the sums and quantities differ.
Such purchases have happened before, but, judging by the data from the public procurement website, they were not so massive, and the number of protective equipment and sums were significantly lower. For example, in 2024, Pinsk city executive committee spent 321 thousand rubles on the purchase of 240 pieces. Ivacevichy district executive committee in 2025 acquired 36 pieces for 73.7 thousand rubles.
