The girl is a volunteer; she rescues abandoned animals and keeps over a hundred cats and dogs in the village. According to the law, if a pet cannot find a home within a month, the volunteer is obliged to register it to herself at her place of residence.

It turned out in the comments that the girl is not alone in this problem: Belarusians began to share similar cases where the tax was even higher. Many were outraged — because in the absence of state shelters, volunteers help the state rescue animals, but instead of support, they receive huge bills.
The woman from Slonim is now hoping to raise the necessary amount through donations.
Animal tax rates have increased starting this year. For an ordinary dog, you have to pay 14 rubles per quarter, and for a potentially dangerous breed — 67 rubles.
