Driver caused an accident and fled the scene in Stolin district

In Stolin district, a car flew into a ditch and overturned onto its roof, and the driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving the passengers behind, reports the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

According to preliminary traffic police data, a Rover car was moving along the H-603 road "Vialikaje Maliašava — Ramieĺ — Aĺšany" towards the village of Azdamichy. On a bend, the driver exceeded the speed limit, lost control, and drove into a ditch, after which the car overturned.

There were three passengers in the car — aged 36, 25, and 52. They were taken to the hospital for examination. The driver himself left the scene of the accident and is currently being sought by police officers.

The traffic police remind that an accident participant is obliged to remain at the scene and provide assistance to the injured, as fleeing only complicates the situation and worsens the consequences.
