In Venezuela, an 11-year-old boy was rescued alive from under the rubble 70 hours after the earthquake

The story of the boy's rescue was told on the social network X by the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.

A fortunate event amidst widespread grief was recorded in Caraballeda, the capital of La Guaira — the state most affected by the earthquakes.

"Just a few minutes ago, an 11-year-old boy was rescued alive in Caraballeda. In these hours, every life is hope for Venezuela," Delcy Rodríguez wrote.

According to official data, 1430 people have died so far, and more than 3200 have been injured. Almost 70,000 people are still missing.

Two earthquakes occurred with a difference of just 39 seconds on Wednesday evening west of the country's capital, Caracas. The tremors had magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. According to official statements, approximately 430 aftershocks have occurred as of now.
