Requirements for organizers of children's trips abroad tightened

Belarus has introduced stricter requirements for organizers of children's trips abroad. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchyn on August 20.

The document defines the procedure for minors leaving Belarus as part of organized groups, including for participation in international events.

Now, organizers of children's groups and persons accompanying minors are responsible for ensuring the safety of children. This applies to the entire period of the trip — both the journey to the destination and back, and the children's stay abroad.

The introduction of new requirements followed an emergency incident in Russia in June. At that time, a bus carrying a Belarusian children's football team, traveling from Rechytsa to Gelendzhik for recuperation and training, was attacked by drones in the Bryansk region. A woman accompanying the children died, and eight other people were injured.

After this, Alexander Lukashenka instructed that children's groups should not be allowed to travel abroad without state control and appropriate permission.

At the same time, Lukashenka noted that the private company that organized the trip acted lawfully, so he did not express direct claims against it. He urged parents to be more cautious about organizing children's foreign trips, especially given the military risks outside Belarus.
