Russia massively attacked Ukraine: 12 dead, including an Indian citizen

On the night of September 1, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. 12 people died, and dozens more were injured. Among the dead is an Indian citizen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced.

"A total of 12 people died, including an Indian citizen, and dozens more were injured as a result of the attack. My condolences to all who lost loved ones," Zelenskyy wrote on social media.

For the attack, Russian troops used a large number of reactive drones and ballistic missiles. Residential and other civilian infrastructure was damaged.

In Boryspil, a five-story residential building was damaged, from which 50 people were evacuated. Enterprises also came under attack. Four people died in the city, and another 13 were injured.

In Kyiv, a Russian ballistic strike hit a railway depot and other railway facilities. Seven people died, six of them were "Ukrzaliznytsia" employees. One worker was hospitalized with injuries. Company board chairman Oleksandr Pertsovskyi reported that one of the workshops was completely destroyed.

Strikes were also carried out on Odesa and the region. Thousands of families were left without electricity.

In addition, a checkpoint on Ukraine's border with Romania was damaged.

Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions also came under shelling.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of September 1, Russian troops used "Iskander-M"/KN-23/S-400 ballistic missiles, "Zircon" anti-ship missiles, "Kalibr" cruise missiles, Kh-31P anti-radar missiles, as well as 218 drones of various types. Hits were recorded in 28 locations. Ukrainian air defense, according to the military, neutralized 199 air targets.

After the attack, Zelenskyy again called on partners to increase supplies of air defense systems to Ukraine.

"The number of victims of Russian terror directly depends on each new aid package," he stated.
