Minsk taxi driver developed a clever scheme, by which he acquired 12 cars almost for free
A representative of a capital company specializing in the sale of used cars addressed the Frunzensky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk. During an audit, the company discovered a significant shortage — about 180 thousand rubles.

A 25-year-old Minsk resident, who worked as a taxi driver, was detained on suspicion of committing the crime. As law enforcement officers found out, the man had previously been involved in reselling cars and was well-versed in the procedures for their buying and selling. In addition, an acquaintance of his worked at the company, from whom he received information about the internal workings of the firm.
According to investigative materials, the Minsk resident began acquiring used cars from this company, drawing up contracts in the names of his former clients and using copies of their documents. After receiving an invoice, he transferred only part of the required sum, and then, using a graphic editor, altered the data in the payment receipt, indicating the full cost of the car.
The man presented the forged receipt to company employees, after which he took the car. In this way, he obtained 12 cars, which he later sold through a specialized online platform.
To prevent law enforcement officers from tracing him, the man used SIM cards when placing advertisements, which he later destroyed.
The detainee stated that he spent the money obtained from selling the cars on paying off debts and purchasing new vehicles.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under the article on large-scale fraud.
