US again failed to warn Ukrainians about Russian ballistic missile strikes
On the night of October 19, Ukraine again did not receive a warning from its partners about an impending Russian missile strike. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces launched 16 ballistic missiles in several waves at Kyiv and the Kyiv region overnight. Energy facilities and other infrastructure were again the targets of the attack. A medical clinic, a school, a metro station, and residential buildings were also damaged.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine supports efforts aimed at ending the war, but Russia responds with missile strikes, "Shahed" drone attacks, and the killing of people. According to him, while supplies of interceptor missiles for Ukrainian air defense are delayed, the imposition of sanctions against Russia is also being postponed. The President of Ukraine stated that the war continues due to Russian attacks and Moscow's desire to prolong it.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already reported that partners did not warn Kyiv about Russian missile launches on October 12 and October 13. Kyiv and the region were also affected then. During the last of these shellings, one of the targets was Thermal Power Plant No. 4, which is important for the capital.
However, the day before, in an interview with NBC, Zelenskyy stated that information about Russian missile launches is again being received by Ukrainian servicemen. He thanked the US for this and noted that Kyiv can only receive such data from the American side.
Head of the US State Department Marco Rubio explained the interruption in the transmission of warnings by software failures. According to him, the US European Command is investigating this issue.
Rubio also refuted Zelenskyy's claims that the US had suspended the transfer of some intelligence information to Kyiv. He stated that he does not understand where the Ukrainian president gets such information and why he voices it in the media, and urged him to focus on ending the war.
