In the Miadziel district, people encountered a large bear in an open field near the Svir — Zanarach highway. A video of the unexpected encounter was published on TikTok. The clip garnered over 270,000 views and nearly 300 comments.
The footage shows the bear calmly walking in the field, running, and then stopping and rising on its hind legs. At one point, it again runs parallel to a car moving along the highway, after which it stops again. It seemed the animal was not at all afraid of people's presence.

According to the video's author, the bear was spotted past the turn to the village of Buiki, approximately three kilometers further along the highway. The encounter took place near the village of Yanavichy, Zanarachski rural council.
The size of the animal impressed the people in the car. At one point, one of the passengers got out onto the roadside when the bear was at a distance, but did not approach it.
The author of the clip recounted that on that day, they and their friends were driving to meet a person who was walking towards them on the highway.
“I don't know what would have happened if my friend had encountered the bear,” he noted.
By eye, the man estimated the animal's weight at least 300 kilograms. According to him, the bear was exceptionally large, and its fur was shiny.
