Pryluki near Minsk on a wave of hype — Belarusians massively went there for photos in the "Twilight" style. Locals are not thrilled

The Chapskis Palace in the village of Pryluki, located in the Minsk district, after several blogger posts featuring the local scenery, has become a true Mecca for Belarusians who also wanted photos in the style of "Twilight" or "Wuthering Heights".

However, while another tourist rejoices at a successful shot, locals are indignant: "Countless cars. Girls either in underwear or naked. They throw trash. We want a barrier."

On social media — dozens of fresh photos from Pryluki. Belarusians themselves admit that they "succumbed to the general psychosis and trend" and couldn't be without their autumn photo postcard against the backdrop of the estate complex, which during its existence served as a male Orthodox monastery, then the possessions of the Gutten-Chapski counts, then an NKVD holiday home, then a German commandant's office, and even a station for protecting potatoes from the Colorado beetle.

Over the weekend, dozens of cars, minibuses, and ever-new batches of people with smartphones and cameras were observed at the entrance to Pryluki. Experts give advice: "If you want to see Pryluki without crowds of people and endless rows of cars — set your alarm for five in the morning."

Those who overslept until 8 AM and only arrived in Pryluki by 11 AM noted that "it was already quite crowded."

The palace part of the complex has been restored, but photographers' frames more often capture its untouched parts — utility buildings, including a barn, a workers' house, and a stable.

Such sudden interest in Pryluki is not to the liking of all local residents:

"Leave Pryluki alone, as it was a week ago."

"We live here and now we can't drive through or park."

"It would be great if these tourists didn't leave trash behind and cleaned up after their dogs."

However, not everyone shares the local population's negativity. "On the contrary, it's great that Belarusians have developed an interest in their own, even if in this way," some commentators defend the "hyped" tourists.

"I hope that with the arrival of a large number of people in Pryluki, not only heaps of trash will appear, but also good funding," expresses another Belarusian.
