«For Ryzhenkov, his transfer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was a surprise».

Former diplomat Andrei Bushyla, who worked for over 20 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on European affairs, but resigned in August 2020, in a new TOK reflects on the ambitions of the current Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov.
«For Ryzhenkov, his transfer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was a surprise. He worked for a long time in the Presidential Administration, and I think he was expecting to become the new head of the administration», — Bushyla believes.

He believes that for this reason, Ryzhenkov is not particularly invested in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is not overly concerned about its role in the system of power coordinates.
«His ambitions are of a different kind — not at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it seems to me», — adds the diplomat.
