Where is Kiryl Sluka now? Everyone knew his song "And I called you beloved, my beloved — Be-lo-ruuuussia"
Kiryl Sluka was a star of the 2000s, but then disappeared from the big stage.

On the Belarusian pop scene in the late nineties and early 2000s, Kiryl Sluka was a prominent figure. Initially, he broke into television, starting as a DJ for the program "Telebom's Disco". Later, he grew to host his own shows — "Telets-show" and "Classics of the Courtyards".
He decided to seek his path on the music scene together with Sergey Kovalyov – their duo "KaSlukaDaKovalyov" became quite successful.
In 1998, Kiryl rushed to conquer Moscow — Igor Krutoy invited him to sign a contract (because of this, Sluka ruined many relationships in Minsk). But it didn't work out with the "shark" of Russian show business. From Kiryl's interviews in the 2000s, it's clear that he and Krutoy had very different visions for the direction the singer should take.
Sluka later admitted that life in the "post-Moscow period" was difficult. It was not easy for the ambitious young man to cope with Igor Krutoy suspending the contract, making it seem like "yesterday he had everything, and today nothing was clear".

He even said he thought of becoming an accountant, but his mother dissuaded him — because her son had put his whole life into show business.
Kiryl eventually parted ways with his stage partner, Sergey Kovalyov.
Kovalyov, however, decided to become a doctor — and started working as an ultrasound diagnostics doctor at "Mother and Child" (he graduated from medical university even before his artist career and even wrote an anthem for his alma mater). His work received many good reviews, and among his celebrity patients was even Darya Domracheva.

At the beginning of the 2000s, Sluka went to Radio Mir with his author's program "Sluka Naroda". At that time, he also tried to create something similar to modern Tinder. He enthusiastically recounted in an interview that he was interested in a Japanese development: "Those wishing to make new acquaintances acquire something like a pager in the shape of half a heart and enter their preferences for a potential partner into a computer. If mutual requirements match in the computer, the two halves of the heart chime or blink. People meet. While this wonder of technology reaches us, I propose a simpler, but no less exciting way of club acquaintances. For now, I don't want to reveal all my secrets. I'll just say that I involved many partners in this project who found the idea interesting".

Another wave of Kiryl Sluka's popularity in Belarus fell on the years 2003-2005. Then the artist released music videos for songs such as "Ya pridumal-dumal-dumal" (which is better known to the public as "Belorussiya" or "Belarus and I" — depending on how one heard it) and "Armiya nuzhna".

It's hard to say now what contributed more to the popularity of the tracks — simple lyrics combined with catchy melodies, or the ideological meaning that officials at various levels liked. But the music videos were played on television, and Sluka was invited to holidays with these hits.
In 2004, he was entrusted, along with Alena Spiridovich, to host "Slavianski Bazaar". In 2005, in honor of his 30th birthday, the artist gave a concert titled "Everything," where he announced that he planned to be a composer and producer thereafter. Later, he tried to joke that it was a PR move, and that he actually meant that everything was just beginning.

But he eventually disappeared, even though at that point, everything was going quite well for him on the Belarusian pop scene.
After some time, Kiryl was found in Moscow — it is known that for at least some time, he was involved in organizing events there. He also performed as a singer on small venues.
He hasn't given interviews for a long time.

Judging by social media, Sluka has not abandoned creativity — in 2023, he became a member of the band "L20" (they presented an acoustic program "Nicknamed Love"). It seems they haven't managed to gain popularity — the band's community on VKontakte has only 25 subscribers.

Kiryl is invited to small events. In 2024, for example, he performed at an evening dedicated to Mother's Day, at the local cultural and leisure organization "Dialogue" in Maryino (a district of Moscow).

From time to time, song fragments appear on YouTube, with Kiryl Sluka indicated in their descriptions. The videos feature an AI-generated character that visually resembles Sluka. But there is no confirmation that this is truly Kiryl's work.
Meanwhile, in Belarus, Sluka's songs continue to live on at various state events even today. In 2024, Alexander Solodukha, along with young artists, performed Kiryl's famous track "Minsk — eto ya". And this year, Nasta Krauchanka received a wave of hate for singing his "Belorussiya" at a hockey match.
