The most massive detentions of youth and teenagers in recent years took place in Moscow
On Saturday evening, a raid by security forces took place in the center of Moscow, in Kitay-Gorod. According to estimates from Telegram channels close to the security forces, between 150 and 300 people were taken to police departments, writes "Agenstvo".

The Russian Interior Ministry explained the raid as "preventive measures," which allegedly included those related to public consumption of alcohol.
Security forces detained those who were informally dressed, young people released from the police department recounted. Detainees also spoke of beatings.
In the departments, detainees were given summonses to the military enlistment office. According to one of the teenagers, everyone over 18 was offered to sign contracts.
Protocols were drawn up against 17 detainees for drinking alcohol, and against some for disobeying the police, Baza reported.

Some of the detainees were held in the police department for more than three hours, without allowing their parents access to them.
OMON raids on the new hangout spot for Moscow's informal youth in Kitay-Gorod were reported back in the summer.
The reason for the confrontation is an informal dispute over how public spaces can be used in Moscow. Teenagers gather in areas created by the authorities, but this causes dissatisfaction among local residents.
Another dimension of the conflict is the attitude towards informal youth from an increasingly repressive Russian state.
The last such mass detentions of youth in Moscow took place on February 23 and 24, 2023. At that time, more than 350 people associated with the "PMC Redan" subculture were taken to police departments.
