At the "Oktyabrskaya" metro station, there was a "blind spot" for train drivers. Now they have figured out what to do about it.
For a long time, there was a problem of the so-called blind spot at the Oktyabrskaya metro station in Minsk: due to the specifics of the movement of people on it, train drivers arriving at the station on the first track in the direction of Uruchye could not see the tail car. But now, as the press service of the Minsk Metro claims, this problem no longer exists.

Oktyabrskaya is one of the busiest stations in the Minsk metro: passengers are constantly arriving here both from the escalators and through the underpass from Kupalovskaya station. As a result, a large and uneven passenger flow is created on the platform.

Due to this specificity of people's movement, the drivers of trains arriving at the station on the first track in the direction of Uruchye could not see the tail car. Obstacles in the view did not allow them to control the situation in the tail of the train: whether all passengers had time to enter or exit, whether there were any dangerous situations near the doors. This could negatively affect passenger safety during boarding and disembarking.

To solve this problem, a special video surveillance camera was installed at the station, which covers the tail of the platform. The image from the camera is broadcast on a panel in front of the driver's cab. The latter can now see not only the first part of the train, but also what is happening far behind him - near the last doors.
Thus, the "blind spot" at Oktyabrskaya no longer exists - it has been replaced by a modern video monitoring system.
