Ilya spent 15 minutes and 37 seconds on the ice (2:09 of which were on the power play), scored 1 (0+1) point, blocked one shot, received two penalty minutes, won 6 out of 14 face-offs (42.9%), and earned a plus/minus rating of «+1».
The younger of the Protas brothers spent this season in the American Hockey League, where he accumulated 62 (28+34) points in 66 games for «Hershey», where he is the best in both goals and points (goals+assists).
Among all AHL hockey players, Ilya Protas ranks sixth in points, sixth in goals, and seventh in power-play goals (10).
Ilya became the 19th Belarusian in the National Hockey League since 1992. This season, eight Belarusians have played in the NHL, which is a record.
His older brother Aliaksei has 51 points this season (24+27) in 74 games.
«Washington Capitals», after 79 games, has 89 points and occupies 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the playoff zone by three points. The team will play its next away game on April 11 against «Pittsburgh».
