According to Ushakov, Volodymyr Zelenskyy opposed the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas, and this was "one of the demands the Americans are making of him." Ushakov made his statement after Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that within the framework of peace plan negotiations, the US is discussing a "free economic zone" option: "The Americans call it that, and the Russians call it a 'demilitarized zone'."
