The alpine skier is in the reliable hands of doctors.

The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Federation announced on social media that the 2010 Olympic champion, two-time world champion, 41-year-old American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn is in stable condition after a severe fall during the downhill competition at the 2026 Olympic Games.
"Lindsey sustained an injury but is in stable condition and in the reliable hands of a team of American and Italian doctors," the federation's statement said.
Yesterday, during the descent, Vonn caught on a flag on the course, spun in the air, and fell. The athlete started the race with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.
At the end of January, Vonn fell during the super-G competition at the World Cup stage in Crans-Montana (Switzerland). Examinations after the fall revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament, bone bruising, and meniscal tears in her left leg.
