As it was established, the young man received an offer to earn money from third parties via messenger. His task was to act as a courier. For these services, he was promised 2% of the transferred amount.
In parallel, fraudsters were manipulating an 11-year-old boy from Grodno. They convinced him not to tell his parents anything, then instructed him to photograph the money in the apartment. The boy assured them that there were savings at home and he even knew where they were kept.
The criminals began to intimidate him and threaten his father with prison. They also said that it was necessary to check the authenticity of the banknotes. If they turned out to be real, they would be returned after some time. All conversations with the boy were strictly confidential.
At the end of November, the fraudsters again contacted the schoolboy. After that, the boy handed over the family's savings — more than 82 thousand rubles — to the courier.
The courier managed to leave Grodno but was soon detained on the M-6 highway. Of the received funds, he spent only 500 rubles, and the remaining amount was confiscated from him and returned to the victim.
The young man pleaded guilty and repented of his actions. According to him, he did not think about the full seriousness of the actions, but understood their illegal nature. He followed the instructions of an unknown person because he was promised good payment for simple work.
The court found him guilty under part 4 of article 209 of the Criminal Code. In addition to a real term and a fine, in accordance with the rules of part 1 of article 46-1 of the Criminal Code, the defendant's mobile phone, which was used as a means of crime, was confiscated to the state's revenue.
