Energy Workers Show What Homes They Created for Storks Look Like PHOTO FACT
In the Gomel region, they have started installing special platforms for stork nests on power line poles. In the Dobrush and Vetka districts, they plan to place about a hundred such artificial nests, reports Gomelenergo.

Energy workers make the platforms themselves and place them in villages where storks usually nest. The new structures are not only comfortable for the birds, but also safe: previously, storks often chose power line poles for nesting, which could lead to short circuits and power outages. Now both the birds will be safe, and the energy systems reliably protected.

The Ministry of Energy notes that such platforms are especially needed in the Brest and Gomel regions. Nests are placed at a safe distance from live parts, so that the birds feel comfortable and electricity supplies remain uninterrupted. Installation is carried out together with the reconstruction and construction of new power transmission lines.
