Details have emerged about the explosion near Savyolovsky railway station in Moscow, which resulted in the death of a traffic police officer. According to investigators, the explosion at midnight on February 24 was organized by a 22-year-old native of Udmurtia, who arrived in Moscow from St. Petersburg. Law enforcement officers have reportedly reconstructed his route and are now studying his biography, circle of acquaintances, and possible motives for the crime.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on February 24 at a meeting of the FSB collegium that the suspect was likely recruited online. According to Putin, the man was given an explosive device, which was later detonated remotely. The politician suggested that the perpetrator might not have been aware of all the circumstances and became a victim of recruitment.
The incident occurred on February 24 around 00:05. A man approached a traffic police service vehicle parked near a taxi stand, after which an explosion occurred. Senior Police Lieutenant 34-year-old Denis Bratuschenko and the attacker himself died on the spot. Two other police officers were injured.
As a result of the explosion, the roof and body of the car were severely damaged. According to preliminary estimates, the power of the explosive device was about 300 grams in TNT equivalent.
Following the incident, the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under articles concerning attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and illegal trafficking of explosive devices.
