In Slonim, a college student was deprived of the right to manage her own scholarship
In Slonim, a court restricted the right of an underage college student to independently manage her income until she reaches 18 years of age. This initiative came from the prosecutor of the Slonim district, who appealed to the court with a request to deprive the girl of the ability to independently use her scholarship and other payments, reports the General Prosecutor's Office.

The mobile court session took place at the Slonim State Medical College.
The girl, whose case was being heard, was left without parental care and is on full state support. The college director was appointed as her legal representative. Monthly, a scholarship and other maintenance funds were credited to the student's bank card.
However, according to the case materials, the girl spent all the money very quickly — on clothes, food, smoking systems and liquids for them. At the same time, she provided herself with only a minimal level of needs, insufficient for a healthy and safe lifestyle.
It was also noted that the girl's academic performance was mediocre, and she missed classes without valid reasons. In court, she admitted the validity of the accusations made against her.
As a result, the court ruled to deprive the girl of the right to independently manage her scholarship and other income until she reaches adulthood.
