A week ago, on March 12, Lukashenka announced that Masliak had been detained and was in a pre-trial detention center on charges of bribery. According to him, the official was detained "at the scene of the crime," and the case is under strict control of security forces.
Masliak held the position of minister since April 2024 and simultaneously headed the anti-corruption commission in this department. The latest information about his work in this position appeared in early March.
Before that, he worked in various leadership positions in Minsk: he was deputy head of the administration of the Zavodski district, then headed the city committee for natural resources, and later — the administration of the same district.
