76-year-old Slonim pensioner detained for thefts from dachas and cemeteries. He was caught by chance
A 76-year-old resident of Slonim became a suspect in a criminal case after a series of night raids on dachas and city cemeteries. He faces up to 4 years in prison.

The pensioner chose dachas where no one lived and used pliers to break locks. However, during one of the thefts, he left a bag with his tool at the crime scene.
An examination of the abandoned pliers allowed the police to identify the suspect.
During a search of the man's apartment and car, not only items from the dachas were found, but also six decorative granite vases and artificial flowers.
As the pensioner explained, he went to the cemetery before the holidays and effortlessly lifted a vase from one of the graves, then checked other gravestones. That's how it accumulated.
He planned to sell his loot, valuing each vase at 150-170 rubles.
A criminal case (theft committed repeatedly) has been initiated against the elderly man for serial thefts. The 76-year-old pensioner now faces up to 4 years in prison.
