Lukashenka: It's not true that I'm simply burning with desire to visit the USA and just shake Trump's hand. To be honest, it would be pleasant
In an interview with the Russian propaganda channel Russia Today, Lukashenka spoke about his possible meeting with US President Donald Trump. He tried to pretend that it seemingly holds no special significance for him, but he didn't quite succeed.

"It's not true that I'm simply burning with desire to visit the United States of America and simply shake Donald Trump's hand. To be honest, it would be pleasant to see this person face-to-face and shake his hand. But this is not an end in itself, it's not the main thing," he assured.
He also expressed confidence that his meeting with Trump would not look like "a meeting of a vassal with an emperor," because "I don't need to bow and beg for anything."
