Siarhei Toustsikau in the play "Carpenter"
Belarusian actor Siarhei Toustsikau, known for numerous theatrical roles and projects like "Malanka" and "Belsat", has encountered serious health problems. After a recent hospitalization, the artist returned home, but his condition requires prolonged treatment and rehabilitation, writes Reform.news.
Siarhei Toustsikau dedicated more than 20 years to Belarusian theater. In 2020, he took a principled stance, which led to losing his job at the New Drama Theater and forced emigration. In Vilnius, Siarhei not only continued his acting career but also founded the children's theater studio "Ў neskladanae" (lit. 'Uncomplicated'), raising a new generation of Belarusians. Audiences know the artist from plays such as "White Mouse", "Silent Ones", "Carpenter", and just in April, Siarhei performed in this year's premiere – a production based on Belarusian folklore "The Devil's Daughter".
However, the difficult physical labor the actor was forced to undertake in the first years of emigration — he was engaged in collecting metal structures to make a living — affected his health. Chronic arthritis has entered an acute phase, accompanied by severe pain.
At the end of April, Siarhei Toustsikau was hospitalized; he is now home but needs recovery and rehabilitation. Funds are needed for medication, specialist consultations, and basic living expenses.
