Authorities announced how many red-green flags are hung on buildings in Minsk
The official assures that this is the initiative of the residents themselves.
More than 3.5 thousand state flags are hung on buildings in Minsk. This data was announced by Alena Bychanok, head of the department of ideological work, culture, and youth affairs of the Oktyabrsky district administration of Minsk, on STB.
Many red-green flags are on the residential buildings of "Minsk World". The official says that apparently, people themselves wanted it that way.
"Of course, residents are interested in having buildings decorated with state flags. Service organizations install them at the initiative of residents, and also monitor the condition of state flags placed on the roofs."
Bychanok emphasized several times that hanging red-green flags on buildings is the initiative of the residents themselves. However, it is known that after 2020, such demands often came from above. In 2021, the administration of the Pervomaisky district of the capital demanded that IT companies in the HTP (High-Tech Park) place flags on their buildings. In 2023, it was reported how Zelenbud (Green Construction) in the Frunzensky district demanded the same from private companies.
