In Bialystok, a festive concert will be held to support the "Novaya Ziamlia" space
In Bialystok, on August 23, a solemn concert dedicated to Belarus' Independence Day will take place, which also has a charitable goal — to support the Belarusian public and cultural space "Novaya Ziamlia".
The event is organized by the "National Liberation Movement Free Belarus" and the "Novaya Ziamlia" space. They invite Belarusians of Bialystok and guests of the city to jointly celebrate August 25 — the date when, in 1991, by an Act of the Supreme Soviet, Belarus' independence gained constitutional force.
The organizers emphasize that this is not just a concert, but an opportunity for the Belarusian community to gather and simultaneously help preserve "Novaya Ziamlia". This space hosts concerts, exhibitions, lectures, meetings, educational and charitable events. It serves as a place where Belarusians can use their native language, preserve their culture, meet, and support each other.
The main problem for which funds are being raised is the payment of rent for the premises and ensuring the further operation of the space. According to the organizers, previous fundraising efforts, thanks to the solidarity of Belarusians, allowed "Novaya Ziamlia" to continue its work, but the need for constant support remains.
It is planned to raise 9000 zlotys (about 2420 dollars) for the event. Of these, 4000 zlotys are intended for the rent of "Novaya Ziamlia", 3000 for fees for musicians, actors and other participants, 500 for guest travel and transport costs, 1000 for advertising and informational support, and another 500 zlotys for coffee, tea and refreshments for guests.

The program includes a meeting with deputies who participated in events related to the restoration of Belarus' independence. Zianon Pazniak will personally attend the event, and Yury Bielenki will join online.
The musical part of the program will be presented by Siarzhuk Douhushau, Tatsiana and Yustyna Karpilovich, Zmitser and Hierald Bartosiki, the Integration Choir "Kalina" from Bialystok, and Ihar Palynski.
There will also be a dramatization of a fragment of the transcript from the Independence Session.
The organizers urge Belarusians to join the celebration and support the fundraiser. According to them, even a small donation can help not only to hold the Independence Day concert but also to preserve "Novaya Ziamlia" as a meeting place and cultural hub for the Belarusian community in Bialystok.
