Zelenskyy: Starlink's Operation Remains Limited — Only in Ukraine, Not in the EU

Currently, the maximum speed at which Starlink continues to operate is 161 km/h.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Starlink satellite internet terminals still operate in Ukraine with limitations, and this hinders the actions of Ukrainian military personnel, writes BBC.

On Saturday, Zelenskyy, answering journalists' questions, said that currently, the maximum speed at which Starlink continues to operate is 161 km/h.

«After that — according to the reports I have seen and heard — Starlink completely disconnects, and we lose the drone,» said Zelenskyy.

He added that due to such limitations, Ukrainian military personnel lost the ability to deliver food and water to soldiers in positions.

«This is very important [in those places] where military personnel or equipment cannot pass. Where isolation occurs due to control by enemy drones,» said Zelenskyy.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities tried to check if the same restrictions were introduced for Starlink in the EU.

«We sent several cars with Starlink terminals to the territory of European Union countries — and they drove at a speed (where permitted) of more than 180 km/h, and Starlink was working,» said Zelenskyy.

«The conclusion is as follows: the restrictions apply on the territory of Ukraine and do not apply on the territory of EU countries. This means that it is a planned operation,» he stated.

Earlier, the White House and the owner of SpaceX denied that they had made a decision to slow down Starlink's operation. However, according to British press reports, Musk might have made this decision jointly with US President Donald Trump.
