A whole sea of cranberries. How the harvest is gathered in Polesie
Polesie is having its own harvest now. Only instead of potatoes and grain, it's cranberries, and instead of familiar fields, there are whole plantations of red berries.

The harvest is underway at the "Polesie Cranberries" production site of JSC "Parakhonskae" in the Pinsk district. This season, they expect to harvest about 100 tons of cranberries here. Onliner.by shows what this unusual berry harvest looks like.
The most interesting part of this harvest is the process itself. Cranberries here are harvested in an unusual way: the plantations are specially flooded with water, and then amphibious tractors are driven through them.
The machinery separates the berries from the bushes, and they float to the surface. All thanks to small air pockets inside the cranberries, which prevent them from sinking.

Gradually, the water turns into a solid red canvas. Workers use special pontoon barriers to pull the berries to the edge of the plot, from where they are loaded into trailers via a conveyor.
Next, the cranberries are sent for sorting, where leaves, grass, and damaged fruits are removed. After this, the berries are ready for sale or freezing.
