Private sector demolition began in the area of Minsk streets Haya and Arlouskaya

Demolition of private buildings in the area of Haya and Arlouskaya streets in Minsk has begun. These buildings are located in a reconstruction zone for a new residential complex. Construction workers are already dismantling the first houses, and former owners of some properties have relocated, having received monetary compensation or apartments in new buildings, writes Domovita.by.

The first works began at the intersection of Haya Street and 7th Arlouskaya Lane. Several houses have already been demolished here and the site cleared. Initially, 17 private estates located on 7th, 4th, and 5th Arlouskaya Lanes were designated for demolition. In the remaining houses, utility services have already shut off the gas.

These are mostly old houses without urban amenities — with local sewage and no central water supply. Their owners agreed to relocate, choosing monetary compensation or apartments in new buildings. According to a local resident, Alexander, some neighbors moved to houses on Marshal Losik Street.

However, some owners do not plan to leave their homes. This primarily concerns well-maintained cottages with all necessary utilities. Their owners did not agree with the conditions proposed by the city and want to stay on their plots. According to a local resident, the demolition of these houses is not yet planned, as the owners have not accepted the proposed compensation or relocation options.

The area within Shchadryna, Haya, and Arlouskaya streets is to be significantly redeveloped in accordance with the approved detailed plan. On the site of the private sector, it is planned to erect multi-story residential buildings of increased height on stylobates. The first two levels of the buildings will be allocated for commercial premises — there are plans to locate shops, pharmacies, cafes, and other services.

On a broader scale, more than 400 private estates in this area have been designated for demolition. On the cleared territory, it is planned to build more than 4000 new apartments with a total area exceeding 270,000 square meters. In addition to residential buildings, the project includes the construction of kindergartens, a school, parking, and a retail and administrative complex.
