In Bobruisk, a dog shelter was threatened with eviction, but people saved it
In Bobruisk, the 'Five Freedoms' dog shelter, which was threatened with eviction, has been successfully saved. In just a few days, concerned people raised 105,000 rubles, necessary to purchase the land plot where the shelter is located. Now the land belongs to the society, and the 160 dogs are no longer threatened with eviction, according to 'MogilevOnline'.

Several years ago, the 'Five Freedoms' society acquired a former cafe building and transformed it into an animal shelter. Later, the organization leased 36 ares of land around the building and set up enclosures there. However, the owner of the plot decided to put the land up for sale.
Animal rights activists tried to defend their rights in court but lost the case. According to the court's decision, they had to vacate the territory by October 2.
The situation was taken under personal control by Maxim Gurin, the chairman of the Bobruisk City Executive Committee. The authorities offered the shelter other plots, but the organization lacked the funds to relocate.
Then 'Five Freedoms' decided to try to independently buy the land from its owner to keep the shelter in its original location. This required 105,000 rubles, which the organization did not have. Therefore, shelter representatives appealed to their Instagram followers for help.
The necessary amount was successfully raised in just a few days. As a result, the land plot was purchased by the society, and the shelter remained in its place. Now 160 dogs can stay there safely.
