The Kremlin rejected Kyiv's proposal for a 60-day ceasefire.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to order not to strike Ukraine on the day elections are held there, said Dmitry Peskov, the head of state's press secretary, RBC writes.
“The president has already spoken about this, but in this case, I can say on his behalf with full responsibility that if they truly want to hold elections in Kyiv, then the President of the Russian Federation, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, will be ready to give an order not to strike Ukraine on election day. Specifically on election day. This is a very important clarification,” Peskov said.
Yesterday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he is ready to hold elections if Russia concludes a 60-day ceasefire. The Kremlin rejected this proposal.
According to Dmitry Peskov, Kyiv actually does not want to hold elections, and two months without strikes, he believes, are needed for Ukraine to “regroup, heal its wounds, and continue the war.”
Putin, according to Peskov, is ready to order not to strike Ukraine only on election day.
Peskov also said that Moscow was ready to continue peace talks after the State Duma elections. However, Ukraine, according to him, tried to disrupt these elections.
Russia will not believe the promises of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: he has not deserved a pause in hostilities, also stated Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following talks with his Lebanese counterpart Youssef Raji.
“I don't think he deserved a break. I don't think we will once again believe assurances and promises. The President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] stated this very clearly. We continue to achieve the goals of the special military operation. They are perfectly well-known to everyone. We have never changed them, unlike the zigzags and vacillations of Zelenskyy and his European masters. Therefore, we have nothing to justify ourselves for to anyone,” Lavrov said.
