The first Russian-language performance appeared on the playbill of the Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama
A Russian-language performance "Little Tragedies" based on the work of Alexander Pushkin officially appeared on the playbill of the Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama. The production is directed by the theater's director, Svetlana Naumenko, Reform.news writes .

Thus, from December, among the 28 state professional theaters in Belarus, only two will remain where the Belarusian language will be the sole language of performances. These are the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater in Minsk and the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater in Vitebsk.
The Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama was established in 1990 as a theater-laboratory. Its initial goal was to support and develop Belarusian dramaturgy specifically.
In the last season, at the initiative of Svetlana Naumenko, a production based on "Thug Stories" by Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin was also planned at the RTBD. The author of the work actively supports Russia's aggression against Ukraine and even directly participated in hostilities himself. This performance, however, was not ultimately staged.
